(VOVworld) – Federica Mogherini, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said Iran’s recent missile tests did not violate the nuclear agreement Iran signed with the P5+1 Group (including the UK, the US, France, Russia, China, and Germany).
She said on Monday that the EU will not consider imposing sanctions on Iran at present. Earlier, Ms. Mogherini warned that Iran’s missile tests could raise tensions in the already volatile region.
The US said it may impose additional sanctions on Iran after Tehran’s missile tests last week and Washington will continue cooperating with other countries to determine the appropriate response. Meanwhile, Russia said it opposes UN Security Council sanctions on Iran for the recent missile tests.
