Posted on the social media Telegram, the announcement said that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had begun a massive attack targeting Iranian government infrastructure in Tehran.

IDF spokesman Brigadier General Effie Defrin said it has plans for at least three more weeks of Iran operations, adding “We have thousand of targets ahead.” 

The Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs accused Israeli strikes on Tehran fuel depots of violating international law and constituting “ecocide”. On the social media platform X, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote, “Residents face long-term damage to their health and well-being. Contamination of soil and groundwater could have generational impacts”.
