Japanese PM, US State Secretary extend Lunar New Year greetings
(VOVWORLD) - Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio have sent greetings on the occasion of the Lunar New Year.
“In the current international climate, Japan aspires to play an even greater role in fostering peace and prosperity in the international community,” PM Takaichi said in her message. “In that context, I deeply hope that the new year brings peace to the world and restores serenity to as many lives as possible.”
Secretary Rubio’s press statement said: “As we welcome the Year of the Horse, we honor the traditions and customs that make this holiday meaningful to millions in the United States and around the world. Lunar New Year is a time for families and friends to gather, reflect on the past, and look forward with hope and determination to the opportunities in the year ahead.”
