If it’s realized, this will be the first official meeting between the two leaders of Japan and the Republic of Korea since Shinze Abe took the office in 2012 and Park Geun Hye in 2013. The meeting is held amid the Korea-Japan relations tense over territorial conflicts and historical matters left by the war.
