(VOVWORLD) - Judicial reform is becoming popular worldwide, Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court Nguyen Hoa Binh said Monday at a national conference in Hanoi.

According to Mr. Binh, judicial reform should adhere to the principle of assignment, coordination, and control of power, be led by the Party, strengthen judicial authority, be based on socio-economic development, and be people-centered.
He said that judicial reform must parallel legislative reform and administrative reform, with tasks and responsibilities clearly defined for each agency, organization, and individual.
The overall goal, he said, is to build an independent, professional, modern, equitable, uncorrupted, and effective judicial sector to serve the nation and people.
