Lao PM suggests Vietnam, Laos cooperating in cyber security

(VOVworld) - Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith has asked Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) and the Lao Ministry of Post and Telecommunications to work closely together in information security and building e-government in Laos.

At a meeting yesterday with Minister Truong Minh Tuan,  Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith suggested that the ministry and the Vietnamese Government continue supporting Laos in effectively exploiting the LAOSAT satellite system.
Tuan briefed his host on the outcomes of his talks with leaders of the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications of Laos, as well as the results of cooperation between the two ministries over the past years. He affirmed that the two ministries will coordinate closely in information and communications to tap the potential of both sides in the field in the new period. 
The minister expressed hope that the Lao PM and Government will continue backing and creating favourable conditions for the two ministries in implementing programmes and projects supporting the building of management policies and enhancing governing capacity of Laos in the field of information and communications.
