At sharply 9:00 AM (local time), the motorcade carrying Party General Secretary To Lam arrived at the Presidential Palace. General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith warmly greeted and invited him to step onto the honorary platform. The military band played the national anthems of Vietnam and Laos. The Lao top leader then invited General Secretary Lam to review the honor guard, and the two leaders introduced the officials from both sides present at the welcoming ceremony.

Party General Secretary To Lam's visit further deepens political relations to achieve even greater effectiveness, and serves as the core strategic direction for the overall cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. Both sides will continue to strengthen cooperation, closely coordinate on strategic issues related to the security and development of each country and maintain regular and effective high-level exchange and contact mechanisms between the two Parties and States.

Earlier, upon arriving in Laos, General Secretary Lam and the high-level Vietnamese delegation laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldiers in Vientiane.
