(VOVWORLD) -On the occasion of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Dr. Romulo Velero, a respected left-wing intellectual in Venezuela, shared his feelings and assessments of the Vietnamese revolution, the Communist Party of Vietnam, and the current historical significance of the Congress.

Dr. Velero viewed the 14th Congress as a logical and inevitable development of a genuine revolutionary party. According to him, a party, that has led the people to achieve independence and national reunification, successfully implemented the Doi Moi (Renewal) process and gradually affirmed its international standing, possesses the full capacity, wisdom, and experience to continue self-renewal, self-rectification, and lead the country in a new stage of development.

Regarding Vietnam's preparation for the Congress, Velero said that mobilizing the broad involvement of cadres, party members, intellectuals, and people from all walks of life not only has great significance but also reflects the nature of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a Party that understands that its strength lies in social consensus and the trust of the people.
