Speaking at a conference on Wednesday in Hanoi on the implementation of judicial work next year and orientation for the next 5 years, Prime Minister Phuc called on the judiciary to continue to fine-tune the criminal, civil, and judicial proceeding law and the organization of judicial agencies and legal aid, contributing to the protection of justice, citizens’ rights, interests of the State, and legal rights and interests of organizations and individuals.

The Prime Minister said that the legal system must create a driving force for national  development. “In the era of rapid technological development and the fourth industrial revolution, especially artificial intelligence, big data, digital society, and e-government, the law must meet this technological requirement. Efforts should be made so that legal institutions must not hinder national development, they must create conditions for initiatives, creativity, startups, and domestic development. Legal institutions must facilitate development,” Mr. Phuc said.

As Vietnam is joining 14 new-generation Free Trade Agreements, the Prime Minister noted that the judiciary needs to make sure that law does not hamper  Vietnam’s international integration.
