The Autonomous University of Morelos State (UAEM) in Mexico yesterday awarded an honorary doctorate to Mr. Castro for his contribution to agriculture, education, and cultural development. Head master of UAEM Professor Jesus Alejandro Vera said a council of professors, students, and representatives of the UAEM union chose Mr. Castro to receive the honor this year. The award cited Castro for his many contributions to planting, promoting and popularizing sugarcane as well as to education and cultural development in Mexico and other Latin countries.
