NA Standing Committee convenes 42nd session
(VOVWORLD) - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan has lauded Vietnam’s drastic and prompt actions against the novel coronavirus outbreak, saying that the National Assembly stands ready to accompany the Government and the entire political system in fighting the deadly virus.

“We are fighting the epidemic while carrying out socio-economic development missions. We are also keeping a close watch on other epidemics, including A-H5N1 avian influenza, and are taking countermeasures to minimize losses caused by the diseases,” Ms. Ngan said at the start of a National Assembly Standing Committee meeting which opened in Hanoi on Monday.
During the session, the committee will look into revisions to the Law on Settlement of Administrative Violations, and the Law on Organization of the National Assembly.
Full-time legislators will also discuss preparations for Vietnam’s ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) Chairmanship 2020 and the rearrangement of administrative units at communal and district levels in six centrally-run cities and provinces.
