(VOV) - Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thamavong appreciated Vietnam’s contributions to a recent workshop on economic management while receiving a Vietnam National Assembly delegation on Monday. At the meeting, both Prime Minister Thamavong and Vietnam National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu said the workshop is valuable to the two nations as they are preparing to join the ASEAN Economic Community due to be formed in 2015. Luu spoke highly of the Lao National Assembly’s proposal to host the workshop, which he said helped contribute to strengthening the ties of friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

The same day, Vice State President Bounnhang Vorachit received the Vietnam National Assembly delegation.
