(VOVworld)- The National Assembly’s role in supervising the implementation of international treaties on trade and human rights were high on the agenda of an international workshop in Hanoi on Monday. The event was co-organized by the External Relations Committee of the National Assembly and the Friedrich Ebert Institute of Germany. The participants discussed the theoretical basis for the National Assembly’s supervision of international treaties to which Vietnam is a signatory, as well as legal framework and tools to implement international treaties. The experiences of Vietnam and other countries in this regard were also high on the agenda. Since 2006, Vietnam has ratified and participated in nearly 2000 international bilateral and multilateral treaties reflecting Vietnam’s responsible role in the international community.
