(VOVworld) - Three hundred deputies representing tens of thousands of young physicians nationwide gathered in Hanoi on Friday for a national congress of Vietnam Young Physicians’ Association. Called ‘Young physicians practice morality and profession for the community’s health’, the meeting is an important political event for the younger generation of the medical sector marking the Association’s new development.

The congress will assess the outcomes of the implementation of the previous meeting’s resolution and set missions for the next term until 2015.More volunteer doctor campaigns will be launched and the Association will mobilize all social resources, promote cooperative relations with non-governmental organizations and Physicians’ Associations in other countries, and organize more professional contests. Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan addressed the gathering. “The Association has launched three major campaigns. Our activities have gained practical results, which have met the people’s aspiration and justified the Party’s trust. Through practice and real experience, young physicians have revealed their kindheartedness. Real life is a school for them to improve their profession.”

Mrs. Doan asked the Association to expand their volunteer activities to help poor people in remote areas as a way to improve their knowledge, morality, and humanity, and contribute to the community.
