Joining the military parade on April 30 in Ho Chi Minh City will be delegations from the armed forces of three neighboring countries: China, Laos, and Cambodia. In recent days, alongside the Vietnam People’s Army, the armies of these friendly nations have been diligently rehearsing and preparing for this historic event.
As they moved along the parade routes during the rehearsal on April 27, the Chinese soldiers left a deep impression on Vietnamese spectators by expressing their affection for Vietnam and its beloved President Ho Chi Minh through a heartfelt performance of the song “As if Uncle Ho were here on the Great Victory Day.”
At a meeting of parade delegations from the three foreign armies on April 26, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, said Vietnam deeply values the friendship and solidarity of these countries.
"Vietnamese media have shared images of the impressive, well-coordinated parade performance of the contingents from China, Laos, and Cambodia, which symbolizes a spirit of friendship and unity that should always be cherished — a bond that contributes to peace and stability in the region and fosters shared prosperity," said Mr. Nghia.
Colonel Sompheng Keosira, head of the Laotian parade delegation, said, "Since our arrival in Vietnam, we’ve received an exceptionally warm welcome from Vietnamese organizations and people. These are precious memories that we will never forget. The Ministry of National Defense of Laos sincerely thanks the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam for providing us with this valuable opportunity to exchange, learn, and contribute to the success of this grand celebration."
The Laotian and Cambodian delegations arrived in Vietnam on April 19, while the People’s Liberation Army of China delegation landed in Ho Chi Minh City on April 25. All delegations are now fully prepared for Vietnam’s great national event.
