The Prime Minister said more authority will be delegated and more funding will be given to the local administration to make projects on natural disaster response more effective. Mr. Phuc said: “Provincial chiefs will decide the settlement of issues relating to natural disasters and will ask the Central government for advice on issues concerning reservoirs. Authority and funding for natural disaster response programs worth around 22 million USD has been delegated to various localities.”

The Prime Minister said the Party and State pay special attention to the prevention and control of natural disasters and has strengthened the natural disaster response system to minimize losses. Mr. Phuc said Vietnam is one of the 10 countries worldwide that are seriously affected by climate change and natural disasters.
