Netherlands to increase investment in Vietnam’s high-tech areas

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and visiting Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte attended the Vietnam-Netherlands High-Tech Business Forum in Hanoi on Thursday.

In his address, Prime Minister Chinh said Vietnam aims to become a developing country with modern industry and high middle-income by 2030 and a developed country with high income by 2045.

To that end, he said, Vietnam has determined the promotion of innovation and the application of science and technology as a strategic breakthrough.

Mr. Chinh asked the Netherlands to support Vietnam in building, researching, reviewing, and perfecting institutions and policies in high-tech, to cooperate in the development of science and technology, innovation and training of high-quality human resources to jointly implement business cooperation benefitting both countries.

Prime Minister Rutte said that the Netherlands will increase cooperation and investment in the high-tech areas where Vietnam is in high demand and the Netherlands has strengths.

The Netherlands will consider the Vietnamese Prime Minister’s proposal to participate in comprehensive cooperation and investment with Vietnam through the National Innovation Center and Vietnam’s high-tech parks.
