Paetongtarn Shinawatra receives royal endorsement to be Thai Prime Minister

(VOVWORLD) -Thai King Maha Vajiralongkorn endorsed Paetongtarn Shinawatra as the 31st prime minister of Thailand at a ceremony in Bangkok on Sunday.

At the royal endorsement ceremony, new Prime Minister Paetongtarn pledged to work with the Pheu Thai Party and other parties in the Government coalition to make every effort to promptly resolve difficulties and challenges to improve people's lives and develop Thailand.

She called on the people to work with the Government to “make every square inch of Thailand a space that allows Thai people to dare to dream, dare to create and dare to dictate their own future.”

Attending the event were leaders and many members of the House of Representatives of 11 political parties in the ruling coalition. Former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and former Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin were also present at the ceremony.
