Pakistan and Taliban resume peace negotiation

(VOVworld) – Negotiators from both the Pakistani government and Taliban resumed peace negotiation on Wednesday, paving the way for the negotiation’s “second phase” despite that a recent Taliban’s assault killed 6 Pakistani soldiers.

The talks took place at Akora Khattak, 50 km east of city of Peshawar. Irfan Siddiqui, the Pakistani government’s representative, said both sides have met their expectations and are implementing “the second phase” of the dialogue. He said the second phase is decisive because both must reach important and influential decisions.
