Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has commended the police force for their achievements over this year. Speaking at the 67^th national police conference, which opened on Monday in Hanoi, party leader Trong urged for more efforts to ensure political security and social order: “The police force should play a core role, proposing to the Party and State directions and measures to protect national interests, serve socio-economic development tasks and expand international relations. Efforts should be made to detect, prevent or foil any attempt of hostile forces, ensure utmost safety at key spots and major political events of the nation”.

The party leader asked the Ministry of Public Security to be ready to respond to any global unconventional threats and cement the relationship with the people to strengthen the people-based national defence.
