Party leader highlights expanding Vietnam-US partnership
(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary To Lam spoke highly of the fruitful Vietnam-US cooperation in politics, economics, security and defence, and people-to-people exchanges, expressing hope that both sides would continue working closely to further advance the relationship.

Mr. Lam made the remarks while receiving US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, on the occasion of his attendance at the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace for Gaza at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.
The Party leader welcomed progress in negotiations on a reciprocal trade agreement, noting that Vietnamese agencies would continue to coordinate closely with the US side to finalize the deal at an early date. He also expressed his hope that President Trump and US businesses would attend the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week in Vietnam next year.
The US Trade Representative affirmed that Vietnam is one of the US’s important trading partners, adding that stronger economic and trade ties would contribute positively to the overall development of bilateral ties. He said that negotiations on a reciprocal, fair and balanced trade agreement have made significant progress and are entering a decisive phase.
