Party leader meets with representatives of Vietnamese community, agencies in US

(VOVWORLD) - Party General Secretary To Lam met with representatives of the Vietnamese community and agencies in the US on Thursday as part of his trip to Washington D.C. to attend the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace at the invitation of US President Donald Trump.

Vietnamese Ambassador to the US Nguyen Quoc Dung said that the Vietnamese community is currently a large and increasingly integrated community, affirming its role in science and technology, education, healthcare, finance, business, and social life.

Overseas Vietnamese are not only an inseparable part of the nation but also an important force contributing to enhancing Vietnam’s position, strength, and prestige on the international stage, he noted. 

Congratulating the achievements of the Vietnamese community in the US, General Secretary To Lam affirmed that the Party and State always welcome and create favourable conditions for overseas Vietnamese to contribute to Vietnam’s development, especially in key areas during the new development phase. 

He emphasised that the overseas Vietnamese community is an inseparable part of the great national unity bloc, and a crucial driving force for the country.
