(VOVworld) - The Vietnamese government has issued a decree on implementation of the Ordinance for Religion and Belief.

The decree states that the Vietnamese state always respects and assures the freedom of religion and belief and non-religion for its citizens. The decree also prohibits any activity that forces the people to follow or abandon religion, takes advantage of religious freedom to sabotage the country’s peace and independence, incite violence, divide the nation, cause social disorder and harm others’ life, health, dignity and properties. Those who violate laws on religion and belief are punished in accordance with the laws.
