(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) will continue to improve its contributions to Vietnam’s international integration over the next 5 years. Vice Chairman of the Union, Don Tuan Phong, pledged at a press conference on Tuesday to review the union’s last tenure and reveal its plans for the next 5 years. He said: “The Union will continue to adhere to Vietnam’s international integration policy. We will focus on strengthening relations with neighboring countries, long-time friends, strategic and comprehensive partners, and other ASEAN members. We will continue to promote Vietnam, its land and people during the integration process, helping to safeguard Vietnam’s legitimate interests in human rights, democracy, and religious freedom.”

The Union’s 5^th Congress will open in Hanoi next Monday. More than 500 domestic and international delegates are expected to attend the event.
