PM applauds Vietnamese martial arts practice in Algeria
(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife on Thursday visited the Vovinam Federation, celebrating Vietnamese martial arts in the capital Algiers.

From the first Vovinam class with 41 students in Algeria in 2001, after 25 years, Vietnamese martial arts have been expanded to many more places in Algeria as well as in other African countries. There are now hundreds of Vovinam clubs located in 37 of the 58 provinces and cities across Algeria, which is the second largest Vovinam community worldwide only after Vietnam.
Watching the performance of the Algerian Vovinam National Team and athletes of the Vovinam Federation in Algeria, Prime Minister Chinh praised Algerian friends and 31,000 martial artists in Algeria for demonstrating the noble sportsmanship and community health as well as special affection for the country, people of Vietnam and its martial arts.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, left Algeria for South Africa to attend the G20 Summit and conduct bilateral activities at the invitation of South African President Matamela Cyril Ramaphosa, Chair of the G20 in 2025.
