The Prime Minister said the government is exerting the greatest efforts to curb the spread of the disease.
In Vietnam, after more than 30 days without any domestic cases of COVID-19, a new outbreak was reported in Ha Nam province on Thursday with 13 community infections.
The risk of outbreak spread is high, the Prime Minister said, asking the Ministry of Health, the Ha Nam provincial People’s Committee, and other provinces and cities to quickly trace related contacts, early detect, promptly quarantine, effectively treat patients, and seriously deal with violation of disease prevention regulations.
The Prime Minister asked agencies, organizations, and the public to uphold the spirit of fighting the disease as if fighting the enemy and place on top national interest and people’s health to proactively cope with the pandemic.
The Prime Minister stressed the importance to effectively fight against the disease while boosting economic growth and ensuring national security, safety, and political stability, particularly in epidemic-hit areas and border localities.
Ha Nam, Hung Yen, Hanoi, HCM City, and other cities and provinces are urged to promptly quarantine infection cases, effectively treat the patients, and conduct mass testing in order to curb the spread of the disease.
The Prime Minister asked cities and provinces nationwide to resolutely enforce the disease prevention measures requested by the Ministry of Health and strengthen border control to prevent illegal entries.
