At the meeting, the PM called on the military, police, other relevant forces, and localities to propose new initiatives to accelerate the campaign. He said completed houses must be equipped with electricity, water, telecommunications, and basic amenities. He urged for completing the campaign by January 15.
PM Chinh said: "The 14th National Party Congress will open on January 19, and by that time, all affected families must have housing. Localities need to review the situation, and even people who have houses should be given televisions and refrigerators because many families have lost their belongings as well as their homes."
According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, all 34,759 houses damaged by disasters have been repaired. So far 65.5% of 1,046 houses requiring replacement have been completed.
