PM urges rare earth development for strategic autonomy

(VOVWORLD) -Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Saturday emphasized the need to strengthen state management and development of rare earth industry to contribute to strategic autonomy.

Chairing a meeting of standing Government members in Hanoi, the PM emphasized a National Strategy on Rare Earths. He outlined tasks and solutions including building and refining institutions, mechanisms, and policies, with a priority on deep processing; financial investment, state resources, public-private partnership resources, and investor resources; and building and developing infrastructure. Other tasks include mastering advanced and appropriate technologies; promoting public-private partnerships; and implementing smart governance based on digital transformation.

Regarding transitional BT (build-transfer) projects, Prime Minister Chinh requested compliance with regulations, laws, and authority, ensuring a harmonious balance of interests and shared risks between the State, businesses, and the people.
