PM urges stronger efforts against nCoV

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minster Nguyen Xuan Phuc urged ministries, agencies and localities to work harder to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (nCoV) in Vietnam.

Vietnamese and foreigners entering Vietnam from China will be quarantined for 14 days, he said. The order will apply to everyone who has been to the 31 provinces in China that have reported an nCoV infection. Individuals who have been to Hubei province, the epicenter of the outbreak, must be treated as infection cases and quarantined when they arrive, and steps must be taken to prevent transmission within the quarantine zones, the PM said.

PM Phuc asked the health ministry to cordon off areas with persons infected or suspected of being infected and take steps to cure all infections. When there are infected people, every locality must report it immediately, allow students to stay at home, and cancel all community activities and festivals.
