(VOVworld) – Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt, Dao Thanh Chung, said the situation in Egypt was complicated with widespread violence in Cairo and other major cities.
It has had a great impact on the Vietnamese community there. The Vietnamese Embassy has met with its staff and employees of Vietnamese organizations in Egypt to discuss plans to ensure security and safety for the Embassy and Vietnamese people. Mr. Chung said that the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry was closely following the situation in Egypt and monitoring the security and safety of diplomatic agencies and Vietnamese people. The Embassy has prepared specific plans for the worst-case scenarios including closing the Embassy and evacuating Vietnamese people.
