(VOVworld)- President Truong Tan Sang on Monday visited survivors of a helicopter crash in Hanoi’s outlying district of Thach That, who are receiving intensive care at the National Burns Institute.

The soldiers survived the tragedy, but are currently in critical condition. They are suffering from severe burns covering as much as 70% of their body. President Truong Tan Sang asked the doctors to do theỉ best to save the soldiers.

According to the Institute, two soldiers have died in the hospital bringing the death toll of the crash to 18. Three others remain in critical condition.
A Russian-built Mi-171 helicopter carrying 21 soldiers on a parachute training mission crashed in Thach That commune Monday morning. Sixteen soldiers were confirmed dead at the scene.
