(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang received former Japanese Prime Minister Hatoyama Yukio, who is Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association in Hanoi on Tuesday.

President Sang said that he hoped a Vietnam-Japan University would be established soon and that Hatoyama Yukio would continue to contribute to fostering relations between the two countries. Hatoyama Yokio said that his visit was aimed at bolstering bilateral cooperation in education and healthcare towards establishing a Vietnam-Japan University and piloting a model to train engineers in Vietnam as well as opening medical centers for Japanese citizens in Vietnam. He stressed the importance of high-tech agricultural development and technology transfer to help Vietnamese farmers increase the value of their products.
