Chairing a meeting with key leaders of Bac Giang on the implementation of socio-economic tasks, on Wednesday, in Bac Giang City, President Phuc highly appreciated the city's drastic and effective measures for more than two months of combating the pandemic.

As Bac Giang has seen no new cases of COVID-19 over the past 36 days, production and business has become busy again. Mr. Phuc said this excellent achievement contributes to the overall achievement of the whole country and provides good lessons for many localities to learn from.

The President attributed Bac Giang's success to timely social distancing, ensuring social security, actively treating people with COVID-19 to minimize the number of deaths, and advocating vaccination for priority groups.

“Bac Giang’s success in realizing the dual goals also lies in its timely isolation, strict discipline in isolation, and limiting cross-infection. Infected people were treated promptly. The political system was strongly involved at all levels with unified, effective and efficient leadership. There were many innovative models such as setting up a belt to protect the litchi area, selling lychee on the e-commerce platforms, and public-private cooperation in pandemic prevention and control. There was a harmonious and effective coordination between departments and consistent and transparent policy. These experiences can be standardized for other localities to apply.”

The President asked Bac Giang province to prepare a scenario when Vietnam reopens and accelerates development and aim to become one of the 15 leading localities of Vietnam in the size of the economy.
