President Truong Tan Sang visits Ly Son island district

(VOVworld)- On Monday, President Truong Tan Sang visited Quang Ngai province. On his arrival in Ly Son island district, the President paid tribute at the Am Linh Tu temple which was built more than 300 years ago to worship the Hoang Sa soldiers who planted markers affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos.

The President also talked with An Hai communal authorities about the local socio-economic situation. He stressed Ly Son’s strategic important position and asked local authorities to make more effort to boost local development. He asked Quang Ngai provincial authorities and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to promote the plantation of garlic, a local specialty, and to upgrade infrastructure for agricultural development.

That day, President Sang also visited soldiers at Radar Station T 18 of the Naval Command and presented gifts to social beneficiaries.
