(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang and other world leaders attended a banquet on Friday to commemorate the 70^th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory in the Great Patriotic War. Earlier the same day, President Sang met with representatives of the Vietnamese community at the Hanoi-Moscow Culture and Trade complex. He briefed them on Vietnam’s socio-economic development in prospects for cooperation between Vietnam and Russia. He urged the Vietnamese community to continue to contribute to their places of residence and respect commitments with their trade partners. He said that the FTA between Vietnam and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan will offer both opportunities and challenges to both sides. He said, therefore, the Vietnamese business community should remain united to make the most of the two countries’ cooperation potential. At a meeting with Russian friends and representatives of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association in Incentra, President Sang said that Vietnam always remembers and honors those who supported Vietnam during wartime. He added that Vietnam welcomes Russian war veterans to visit their former battlefields in Vietnam.
