President’s letter on Vietnam traditional day of natural disaster prevention

(VOVWORLD) -President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Friday sent a letter to Vietnamese compatriots and soldiers nationwide on the occasion of Vietnam's traditional day of natural disaster prevention, May 22.

In the letter, the President emphasized that over the years, Vietnam has been increasingly proactive in preventing, responding to and overcoming consequences of natural disasters, contributing to protecting people's lives and national socio-economic development achievements.

In the face of more complicated and unpredictable climate change, extreme weather, and natural disasters, the President asked the Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, Party Committees, local authorities at all levels,  mass organizations, social organizations and people nationwide to continue to proactively and synchronously implement solutions for natural disaster prevention and search and rescue, showing the image of Vietnam as an active and responsible member of the international community in its efforts to prevent and combat natural disasters and climate change.
