(VOVWORLD) - According to the UAE News Agency, UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed and US President Trump held a phone conversation on Monday to discuss ceasefire efforts in Gaza and the enhancement of bilateral relations.

During the call, President Mohamed bin Zayed emphasized the urgent need to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches the people of Gaza, given the worsening crisis.
Since March 2, Israel has blocked humanitarian assistance to Gaza following the end of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas and resumed military operations on March 18.
The UAE President also reiterated his country's commitment to the two-state solution as the basis for a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace, ensuring stability and security for all nations and people in the region.
Additionally, both leaders discussed strengthening their strategic partnership. Last week, the UAE committed to investing in the US over the next decade, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, energy, and manufacturing infrastructure.
