Putin said the incident was a result of provocative information on social media platforms and did not rule out the potential involvement of Western intelligence agencies. Putin noted that Russian intelligence and law enforcement agencies must act resolutely to protect the constitution of the Republic of Dagestan, adding that regional security forces must act promptly to safeguard inter-ethnic and inter-religious harmony.

Putin reiterated Russia's longstanding position that the key to resolving conflicts lies in establishing an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

The UN on Monday condemned those responsible for organizing the attack at Makhachkala airport following reports of an incoming flight from Tel Aviv, Israel. The spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, Mr. Dujarric, condemned the actions and rhetoric of those who stormed the airport and targeted individuals based on their religion, calling it an act of anti-Semitism.

Dagestan's Ministry of Health reported that 20 security personnel and civilians were injured during the violent incident at Makhachkala airport. Among them, two individuals were in critical condition. Dagestan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the opening of a criminal case and identified 150 participants, 60 of whom have been detained.
