Participating investors proposed the provincial authorities support land clearance to speed up the projects.

Ngo Son Hai, Deputy General Director of Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), pledged to build transformer stations and power lines and plans to connect wind power plants to the national power grid on schedule.

“EVN is building Lao Bao 220 KV transformer substation and a transmission line to connect it with the Dong Ha station. This is an important line to ensure the transmission of wind power in the area,” said Hai.

Quang Tri aims to become the energy center of the central region with a capacity of up to 15,000MW. By 2025, they wish to gain a power generation capacity of about 4,000 MW.

To achieve this target, Quang Tri has high hopes for the ongoing energy projects, especially 29 wind power projects with a total capacity of nearly 1,120MW under construction. 15 of them will be completed this year.
