(VOVworld) – A commemoration of the 106^th birthday of former Party General Secretary Le Duan took place on Sunday in Trieu Thanh commune, Trieu Phong district, in the central province of Quang Tri. Local authorities and residents burned incense and laid wreaths at the leader’s memorial house in Trieu Thanh commune and at his monument in Dong Ha city.

Le Duan was a staunch communist and an outstanding Party leader from the heroic motherland of Quang Tri. Trieu Phong district authorities used this occasion to launch a boat race on the Thach Han river and other art activities.
