RoK PM to pay tribute to President Tran Dai Quang

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Lee Nak-yon departed Seoul on Tuesday to attend the state funeral for President Tran Dai Quang.

According to Senior Secretary to the President for Public Communications Yoon Young-chan, PM Lee will pay tribute to the late President on Wednesday. Earlier, RoK President Moon Jae-in expressed his regret and conveyed profound condolences to the family of the late President and the Vietnamese people over the great loss.

President Tran Dai Quang passed away on Friday, aged 62, due to a serious illness.

The tribute-paying ceremony for President Quang will start at 7am Wednesday and the memorial service will be held at 7:30am on Thursday in Hanoi. The burial ceremony will take place at 3:30pm on Thursday in the President’s home commune of Quang Thien, Ninh Binh province.
