Son La exports more mangoes to UK
(VOVWORLD) - Three tonnes of mangoes, grown in Yen Chau district in the northern mountainous province of Son La, were packaged on Wednesday to be flown to the UK.
In order to be qualified for exports, the mangoes have to strictly follow certain criteria and be free from pesticides. Weighing around 1 kg each, these mangoes must be assigned codes for management and traceability and wrapped in special packages.
As of 2019, Son La has 15,700 ha of mango farms which are expected to yield 35,500 tonnes, of which 7,500 tonnes are eligible for export.
