South Korea, US conduct major amphibious landing exercise
(VOVWORLD) - South Korea and the United States began a large-scale amphibious landing exercise in the city of Pohang and along Korea’s eastern coast on Monday to build up the allies' combat readiness and interoperability, the US Navy and Marine Corps said Sunday.

This year's Ssangyong (double dragon) exercise, which will run through Saturday, will mobilize division-level landing forces, some 40 vessels, and some 40 aircraft, the Navy and Marine Corps said in a joint statement.
Also joining the exercise will be Britain's Royal Marine Commandos, marking their participation in the drills for a second consecutive year. The Ssangyong exercise had not been held since 2018.
