(VOV) - More than 200 local and foreign companies are participating in the Southeastern Region Industry and Trade Fair & Exhibition 2014 which opened Thursday in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province. The annual event is part of a national trade promotion program launched by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and marks Binh Thuan province’s Liberation Day on April 19^th and the national Liberation Day on April 30.
The exhibition is open to all industries and provides a venue for companies to showcase their latest products and services, study their rivals, and examine market trends and opportunities in agro-forestry-fisheries, garments and textiles, leather footwear, interior decoration, and other fields. Uong Tien Thinh, Managing Director of the National Textile & Garment Group (Vinatex), said: "The event is of great importance because it helps the business community in the region improve its competitive edge. Previously, each province followed its own business strategy but now the provinces understand the importance of connecting with each other to avoid overlapping investment."
The event runs through April 22.
