Steering Committee of Mekong Delta Economic Cooperation Forum meets

(VOVworld)- The Mekong Delta  Economic Cooperation Forum (MDEC) 2013 themed “Mekong Delta Region towards a green economy” is scheduled to take place in November. Activities will include seminars, trade fairs and exhibitions, attracting more than 650 booths of domestic and foreign businesses. Within the framework of this year’s  forum, there will be a seminar on ways to develop fruit orchards  in line with VietGap (Vietnamese Agriculture Practices) standards and Global GAP, and a seminar on investment promotion for the Mekong Delta Region. Nguyen Phong Quang, Deputy Head of the Southwest Steering Committee's Executive Board said: This year’s Mekong Delta  Economic Cooperation Forum—towards a green economy— will focus on resolving issues related to social welfare, offering solutions for businesses with difficulties, and seeking investment in projects to cope with climate change in the Mekong Delta region.”

The Mekong Delta  Economic Cooperation Forum is a open-link activity  aimed to boost cooperation and bonds between provinces and cities of the Mekong Delta region; cooperation between ministries and departments; and cooperation between localities and international organizations in order to boost economic growth in the Mekong Delta region.
