Students join camp on Vietnam’s sea and islands

(VOVworld) – 900 students are participating in a camp on Ly Son island district in the central province of Quang Tri to enhance their connection with Vietnam’s sea and islands. The 3-day camp, which opened on Friday, is a chance for the students to learn more about Ly Son island, from where the heroic Hoang Sa soldiers departed to fulfill their duties on the Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes.

Most of the students were visiting Ly Son island for the first time. Tran Thanh Binh is from Ho Chi Minh city. He said: "I’m happy to join the camp. This is the first time I’ve been to Ly Son island so I felt a lot of emotions on my arrival. I hope I can learn a lot from this trip".

Participants will be involved in a wide range of activities, including the ground-breaking ceremony of a national flag post and exhibitions of scientific studies, models, and photos of the sea and islands.
