Thai anti-government leader threatens to paralyze capital city

(VOVworld) – Suthep Thangsuban, leader of the ongoing anti-government protest, on Thursday threatened to bring Bangkok to a "complete shutdown" on Election Day. A Vietnam News Agency correspondent in Thailand reported that tens of thousands of national police will be deployed across the nation to ensure security for the Election Day on February 2nd. Meanwhile, Thangsuban said that protestors will march on the streets from now until the election days and will block polling stations to prevent people to cast their ballots.

The Thai government decides to organize their election as scheduled and there are signs that they will take strong measures for anti-government protestors. The national police have deployed 250,000 personnel plus 1,500 rapid reaction units on standby to safeguard the election activities.
