The Thanh Da summer camp was launched in 1979 for workers’ children to acknowledge those having high academic record and encourage the parents to work harder. The camp has involved 92,000 children in collective activities, training of independent lifestyle and communication skills, and educational programs on the basis of favorable conditions for them to develop their talents.  8^th grader Ha Tue Minh of Collette junior high school told reporter: "Thanh Da summer camp is an interesting arena for teenagers to acquire new useful life skills. It is an opportunity for us to make new friends from whom we can learn experience thus expand our communication. I hope more and more friends will join Thanh Da summer camp which can train them to be good citizens".
