On August 2nd, 2013, when a canoe sank in Can Gio district, Ho Chi Minh City, Tran Huu Hiep sacrificed his own life to save others. For his courage, he has been presented a “Brave Youth Badge”, a medal “for the development of transportation”, and a medal “for the cause of the Vietnam Red Cross”.
