(VOVworld)-The Vietnam Germany Friendship Association held its 4^th national congress in Hanoi on Saturday. Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc welcomed the association’s contribution to the bilateral friendship and cooperation in trade, science, technology and culture. He said this has promoted mutual understanding for cooperation, peace and development: “The friendship cooperation between Vietnam and Germany has been an important part of Vietnam’s foreign policy. The friendship people diplomacy has support the implementation of Vietnam’s independent and open foreign policy. The association should serve as a bridge linking the two peoples and support the Party and State’s diplomacy.”

Minister of Industry and Trade Vu Huy Hoang was elected the association president for the next 5 years’ term.
